Me and my friend the grand barracuda.  I had also just cut my thumb so I was not thrilled about the situation.

With the reef in the background.  This was taken at Arlington Reef, which is a much deeper reef.  Also just FYI the Great Barrier Reef is HUGE. It is 2,300 km long and has enough reef mass to cover the size of Germany.  So yeah it is amazing to think that I saw probably maybe 100 meters all day of a reef that is 2,300km long.

Here is a giant clam we saw. There were many of them, some probably as big as 5 feet long.
