Off to the Races

Yesterday as our luck would have it, we got to experience one of the most exciting and yet least expected things of our trips, a formula one race.  While I never thought we would be attending races in downtown Kuala Lumpur, yesterday I found myself entirely wrong.

As we found out, this weekend is Kuala Lumpur’s first ever City Grand Prix.  That means that a good portion of the streets downtown were closed and turned into an admission-free racetrack for some of the fastest cars in the world.

Thus, while unexpectedly stumbling upon this event after some locals had told us it was happening, we found ourselves spending most of the day right on the race track fences.  Harkening back to our childhood visits with our Dad to Laguna Seca Raceways, the spectacles took us back to being kids, marveling at each new supercar we passed.

All in all, while it may not have been anything like the Mosques and museums we visited two days ago, yesterday was a fun little look into the other side of Kuala Lumpur.
