Rain Rain Go Away

Posted Malaysia

While we have fortunately not had much rain on this trip.  We just wanted to share some videos from our recent day trip to Malacca (A city with Dutch, Portuguese, British, & Chinese influence in southern Malasia).

At the center of old town, The Stadthuys. It was built by the Dutch occupants in 1650 as the office of the Dutch Governor and Deputy Governor.

The pair of videos really show the full potential of the Southeastern Asian rain.  The rain lasted no more than two hours, but it left the city soaked for the rest of the day.  Another typical afternoon in Malaysia.

However, once the rained subsided, I must say we had a lovely day in Malacca City.  With its unique history we saw everything from Chinese Buddist temples to Malaysian Mosques with Portuguese architecture.  Furthermore about halfway through our day we ran into a very friendly shop owner that rented us bikes for $0.75 an hour.  From there we cruised around town and even made it in time to bike along the ocean a little during sunset.  Overall, another great day trip!
