Thankyou and Goodbye Korea

Posted South Korea

A sad realization has only begun to set in the morning of our last day in Seoul; as we have become more and more comfortable with this wonderful city, the days have seemed to slip away faster and faster. We’ve meticulously checked destinations off of our Korean bucket list, and left ourselves with one final day to just relax and soak up all that Seoul has to offer. Hopefully this will not be the last time that I visit this thriving peninsula.

I’m excited to move on to China where I can put my Chinese learning to use, but my brother and I will surely find ourselves reminiscing of the simpler times of Korea when confronted by the much less streamlined culture in China. That’s ok though, I’m ready for a more rugged experience. I’m ready to put my haggling skills to the test on the lingual home turf of the vendors, and explore a country and culture that is so old, yet still developing. It’s what I signed up for after all.

Our hostile host and mates will be missed. The striking Korean fashion sense will be missed. Soju will be missed, but as we continue this journey hopefully it will become easier for us to taste the culture of every city, fall in love every time, and continue to the next one without looking back, knowing that the same wonderful experience awaits us at every destination.

감사합니다 안녕 한국

(Thank you and goodbye Korea)
